Hello, I’m Tahmineh. I am a medical doctor and senior psychiatry registrar at St Vincent’s Hospital, and I’ve worked with VTMH since February 2019. I also work at The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture and Trauma.
I obtained a Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2016, and I have more than eight years’ experience working across various inpatient and outpatient mental health settings including rural and regional, adult, geriatrics, child and adolescent and forensicare services. I’m particularly interested in transcultural psychiatry, including in clinical work, psychotherapy and research.
At VTMH, I have contributed to the delivery of multiple educational programs including transcultural clinical discussion sessions, workshops, webinars and seminars.
I look forward to continuing to work with VTMH and to hopefully seeing us continue to expand and accomplish partnerships with all public mental health services across Victoria, to enrich their capacity in cultural responsiveness.
